Earth's Best Ingredient Quality Program

Earth’s Best baby food is produced with the highest degree of attention to quality and safety. We take additional steps to ensure the purity of our ingredients as well as meeting the strict standards required for organic and kosher certification. After all, just because a product is natural doesn’t mean it’s organic.

• Our farmers have made a commitment to organic farming. To be certified as an organic farm, their soil must have been treated with approved organic practices for three years before certified production can take place.
• The Earth's Best family of baby food products and most toddler products are organic, which means at least 95% of our ingredients are organic and can display the USDA Organic seal. Earth's Best products are certified by an agency accredited by the USDA verifying that we meet strict federal organic standards.
• Earth's Best also has a number of products for toddlers that have a minimum of 70% organic ingredients. These products still have no genetically engineered ingredients and are produced without prohibited practices as banned by the USDA's National Organic Program.
• Earth’s Best ingredients are never genetically engineered. Simply put, that is the process of taking genes from one strain of a plant and inserting them into another. All ingredients at risk for modification are tested to ensure that no modification is present. We only use natural wholesome ingredients right from the Earth, as they were intended to be.
• All ingredients purchased are rigorously tested to make sure they are free of any pesticide or potentially harmful residues. No produce is released until our quality assurance department approves laboratory results.
• Fresh apples and pears purchased for Earth’s Best production are all picked by hand. Fruit is inspected prior to shipment by state or federal inspectors to ensure that the quality of the fruit meets our strict specifications.
• Our organic baby juice is made from fresh pressed undiluted single strength juice despite the added cost. We do not use juice from concentrate.
• We only use whole grains and flours including rice, oats, barley, and millet. We also use organic whole wheat flour in our pasta. Whole grains are more naturally nutritious, since the refining process may change the flavor and remove the vitamins and minerals that are found naturally in the grain.
• All Earth’s Best infant cereals are fortified and provide an excellent source of iron (45% of the Recommended Daily Value). Iron plays a crucial role in a baby’s early physical and neurological development. By 4-6 months a baby’s supply of iron from birth is almost depleted.
• All Earth’s Best jarred fruits are fortified with vitamin C (45 % of the Recommended Daily Value), making it an excellent source. Vitamin C is essential because it aids the absorption of iron and helps fight infections.
• We never add any sugar, salt, additives, preservatives or modified food starch to our baby food.
• A majority of our line is kosher, adhering to those strict standards required for certification.
