Not Genetically Engineered

We Don't Use Genetically
Engineered Ingredients

Genetic engineering takes genes from plants, animals or viruses and inserts them in another to reproduce certain characteristics. Non-organic baby food may contain GEIs in their corn, soybeans, tomatoes, squash, potatoes and canola. Earth's Best leaves out the GEIs.

Risk associated with GEIs:

  • May lead to food allergies
  • Antibiotic resistance
  • Presence of animal genes in fruits and vegetables
  • Disrupt ecosystems

Benefits of Genetically Engineered Ingredients may include:

  • Increased crop yields
  • Reduction in pesticide/herbicide use
  • Improved appearance of produce
  • Extended shelf lives
  • Add nutritional content to fruits, vegetables, grains.

Labeling GEI Products:

Currently there are no regulations that require companies to label GEI-products.
